New Spartan Educators Learning Community Online
The New Spartan Educators Learning Community is a collaborative space designed to support new instructors as they navigate the teaching culture at MSU, build meaningful connections, and cultivate engaging learning environments. Spanning eight monthly, one-hour sessions, this community meets mostly virtually with three designated in-person meetings to provide a venue for intentional conversation, peer-to-peer reflection, and the co-creation of practical teaching knowledge.
Each session centers around a focused monthly theme—ranging from establishing a sense of belonging to designing purposeful assessments—and features a Teaching Tidbit spotlight. These brief, educator-led or community-submitted showcases highlight actionable strategies, tools, and ideas that educators can immediately implement in their classrooms. Whether you are looking to share what has worked, troubleshoot what has "flopped," or simply connect with a supportive network of peers, this learning community offers the resources and fellowship to help you start strong and thrive in your teaching journey.
Please note: this learning community will meet via Zoom from 10-11am on the first Thursday of each month starting on October 1:
