Classroom Peer Observation Learning Community In-Person / Online
The Classroom Peer Observation Learning Community facilitates classroom teaching faculty, postdocs, and graduate students in understanding the role of peer observations and the various tools available for peer observations. Participants will review various observation tools, participate in peer observations as observer and/or observee, and discuss the mechanisms in which peer observation can inform teaching practice.
Meetings will be held monthly on the following Fridays:
- September 25 at 1:00pm-2:00pm
- October 30 at 1:00pm-2:00pm
- November 20 at 1:00pm-2:00pm
- December 4 at 12:00pm-1:00pm
Spring semester: TBA
Location:
N121 North Kedzie Hall. Snacks will be available for in-person attendees.
A Zoom option will also be available. Simply complete the registration form, and we will send you a Zoom invitation.
Register to let us know you plan to participate, even if you can't make the first meeting.
Our first meeting will be an informal conversation about what peer observation looks like and how it is used across campus. During the remainder of the fall semester, we will explore a variety of peer observation models and protocols while preparing for optional peer observation partnerships in the spring. You are welcome to participate in the learning community even if you do not plan to complete a peer observation.
