Advisor/Instructor Partnerships for Success and Thriving in College ***Walk-ins Welcome*** In-Person / Online

In this workshop we will describe examples and benefits of strong partnerships between course instructors and academic advisors to support students’ academic success and thriving in college, focused on specific milestones in the semester. Two educational developers from the CTLI - one focused on advisor professional development with experience as a MSU academic advisor, and one an active teaching faculty member, will lead participants through key interactions that can make a difference for instructors and advisors when these roles deliberately partner in service of student academic success and overall thriving in college. This session is open to all MSU educators.

Upon completion of this learning experience, participants will be able to:

  • understand how to develop stronger partnerships between course instructors and academic advisors
  • recognize the key calendar milestones for impactful interactions between course instructors and academic advisors
  • learn how advisors and instructors can work together towards student success.
