SLXD: Integrating Universal Design for Learning (UDL) into Course Design ***Walk-ins Welcome*** In-Person / Online

Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is all the rage these days, often discussed among learning experience designers and accessibility specialists. As a research-backed framework, it provides guidelines for optimizing teaching and learning for all people, based on scientific insights into how humans learn. This session is a crash course on what UDL is, how it is implemented in course design, and how you can modify your courses to improve engagement and accessibility. You will not only become a better instructor, but also a better Spartan Learning Experience Designer (SLXD).

Upon completion of this learning experience, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the principles and core concepts of Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
  • Implement UDL strategies to increase accessibility and engagement in courses
  • Adapt course content and activities to provide multiple means of representation, engagement, and expression for diverse learners
