SoTL Learning Community In-Person
Are you interested in exploring research-informed teaching practices and conducting meaningful inquiries into student learning? The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Learning Community provides a collaborative space for MSU educators to engage in interdisciplinary discussions, develop SoTL projects independently or collaboratively, and access mentorship, funding, and dissemination opportunities. Open to all instructional and administrative staff, this community meets the second Friday of every month throughout the academic year. Join us to connect with colleagues and advance evidence-based teaching!
Upon completion of this learning experience, participants will be able to:
- define the core principles of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and its role in improving student learning and instructional practice
- contribute to a community of practice that supports ongoing inquiry into evidence-based teaching
- design and develop a SoTL project that includes a clear research question, appropriate methodology, and plan for data collection and analysis
- apply ethical principles and navigate the IRB process for conducting research involving student participants
- identify appropriate venues for disseminating SoTL findings, including MSU-based events (e.g., TALKS, Student Success Summit, iTeach) and external publications or conferences.
The in-person location for this session is the Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation. Please join us in the Main Library, Room W207. For directions to W207, please visit the Room Locations page.
