This session is intended for instructors who are curious about using VR in their classes and would like to learn about some best use practices and opportunities for XR resources at MSU. 

"The workshop will focus on what tools I use to teach (i.e., VR headsets, platforms, etc.) and how you can easily try it out in your own teaching by borrowing VR headsets from the MSU XR Co-op, which launched this in 2023." Facilitator, Dr. R. Ratan
 

Facilitator: Rabindra (Robby) Ratan is an Associate Professor and AT&T Scholar at Michigan State University’s Department of Media and Information as well as Director of the Social and Psychological Approaches to Research on Technology-Interaction Effects (SPARTIE) Lab. Robby is Director of XR Initiatives in the College of Communication Arts & Sciences
and an affiliated faculty member of the MSU Department of Psychology, the MSU College of Education’s program in Educational Psychology and Educational Technology, the MSU Center for Gender in a Global Context, and the MSU Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation. He received his Ph.D. from USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, his M.A. in Communication from Stanford University, and his B.A. in Science, Technology and Society, also from Stanford University. To learn more about Robby visit robbyratan.com
