Dignity in Practice: An Educator Panel (walk-ins welcome) In-Person

As a component of MSU Day of Dignity, a campus-wide celebration inspired by Global Dignity Day—an international movement committed to fostering a culture of compassion, inclusion, and respect, CTLI is very excited to be a part of this event-- hosting a panel of educator-practitioners who will share what dignity looks like for them in their various contexts, and why dignity is an important component of a student success/teaching & learning mission.

  • Dr. Charles “charlie” Liu | Director of MOSAIC Office of Education and Outreach
  • Hannah Huey-Jones | Access Specialist, Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities
  • Monaca Eaton | Director of Undergraduate Education – BASW Program
  • Dr. Sheila Marquardt | Founder of SKM Education Consulting + MSU Arts and Humanities Health and Wellbeing (AHHW) Initiative Coordinator

Moderator: Dr. makena neal | Assistant Director of Educator Community & Cohort Initiatives

Why Dignity?
Dignity is the belief that every person matters equally. It’s not earned—it’s inherent. Honoring dignity means treating others with respect simply because they are human. When we uphold dignity in our words and actions, we create more just, compassionate, and inclusive communities.

Additional Day of Dignity activities will be taking place throughout the day on the main floor of the library.

Whether you’re a student, staff member, faculty, or community guest, this is your invitation to pause, reflect, and act. Let’s build a culture of compassion, respect, and shared humanity—one moment, one story, one act at a time.

Because dignity isn’t just a value—it’s a practice.
