African American Musical Identity: Songs, Sources, and Performers In-Person
Join us for a guided exploration of African American identity in art songs and concert spirituals. We will get to know some captivating works by composers like Florence Price, Margaret Bonds, and John Payne, their poetic and spiritual sources, and the African American singers who brought these songs to the concert stage.
