How Green is Your Chat? Assessing the Environmental Impacts of AI – Earth Day 2026 Event In-Person
What are the environmental impacts of usage of AI tools like ChatGPT? Drop by this tabling event in the Main Library to learn about tools that you can use to assess of your own AI usage and learn about the energy and water used to power these tools, which is prompting a data center boom in Michigan. Participants will get free cookies while supplies last.
This event is being organized by the Library Environmental Committee for Earth Day and is being offered in tandem with Doug Bessette's talk Artificial Impact (AI): How the Rapid Development of Hyperscale Data Centers Impacts Michigan Communities (Hybrid).
