Mid-semester Feedback: What, Why and How

Mid-semester Feedback: What, Why and How Online

Join Makena Neal (CTLI) and CTLI Affiliates for an initial, informative session on the basics of mid-semester feedback. We'll share an overview of what formative feedback is and why it is important. Then introduce various mid-semester feedback materials, tools, and resources. We even have a "starter" survey, so its easy for you to get the ball rolling, and will walk participants through accessing, copying, and customing that resource!

This is a great session for all educators with formal instruction responsibilities who are looking for ways to improve their practice for the second half of the semester.

This session will be complimented by a follow up workshop: "What do I do with my mid-semester feedback? Action Planning with Data" on November 14, 2023 from 1:30-2:45pm. It will be an opportunity for educator to bring aggregate student feedback data to the table and leave with an adaptations & actions plan for the rest of the fall semester (and even the spring)!

The mission of the CTLI is to support MSU’s educators and their practices through collaboration and consultation. The CTLI is here as a thought partner for any of your student feedback questions. You can schedule a Student Feedback consultation on the CTLI website: https://teachingcenter.msu.edu/consulting
