Choosing a Data Repository For Your Research Data

Choosing a Data Repository For Your Research Data In-Person

Why do I need a repository for my research data?

More and more often, funding agencies/institutions are requiring data sharing plans be in place when an application for funding is submitted. These generally involve outlining methods for making your final research data findable and available for others in the research community, and having it adhere to the FAIR principles. Identifying a repository earlier in the planning stage is hugely helpful.

What should you look for in a repository?

The main feature to look for in a data repository is that it follows the FAIR principles for data management:

Findability

Accessibility

Interoperability

Reuse

These will be discussed in detail.

How to evaluate them?
