"The Neighborhood Storyteller" Film Screening & Panel Discussion

In collaboration with MSU Libraries, the Muslim Studies Program, Global Studies in the Arts and Humanities, Asian Studies Center and Culinary Services, International Studies and Programs Culinary Services, International Studies and Programs is proud to introduce the film “The Neighborhood Storyteller” to the Michigan State community. The film screening, webinar discussion with the film’s director and main character, and culinary experience are part of ISP’s ongoing Global DEI programming.

About the film…

“The Neighborhood Storyteller” follows Asmaa Rashed, a resilient Syrian refugee living in the Zaatari refugee camp in Jordan. The 50-minute documentary shares the challenges and triumphs of a woman devoted to teaching children to find joy through reading as they also tackle social issues in the community.
