Arab American Heritage Month: A Special Collections Pop-up In-Person
Join Murray & Hong Special Collections as we recognize Arab American Heritage Month with a hands-on exhibit. We will celebrate the Arab American experience by featuring a range of materials that highlight cultural contributions and history. Items include rare books, cookery, comics, zines, and unique artists' works from the libraries' special collections. Everyone is welcome to turn pages and ask questions.
Pictured: Magnificent Ms. Marvel #13, featuring the introduction of Amulet, also known as Fadi Fadlalah. Amulet, who hails from Dearborn, was Marvel's first Lebanese-American superhero. The character was co-created by award-winning author (and Detroiter) Saladin Ahmed and Jordanian-American illustrator Sara Al-Fageeh.
