Our Current Futures: Science Fiction Comics in Special Collections In-Person
Join Murray & Hong Special Collections as we welcome the Science Fiction Research Association’s 2026 Conference. This year’s conference asks: what kinds of futures do we cultivate, and who tends them? Comics Studies Librarian Jason Larsen will present an array of comics about humanity’s concepts of itself amidst earthly (and extraterrestrial) tumult. Selections range from Indigenous and queer futurisms to alternate histories with uncanny parallels to the present moment. We hope you will visit this abundance of visual imaginings and consider your place in our collective future. Everyone is welcome.
