Chavez Collection Renaming: Town Hall In-Person
We invite you to join the Chavez Collection Rebranding Committee on September 28th from 6:30-8pm for a town hall, where we will hold space for our community to reflect, begin to heal, and collectively reimagine the future of the Collection in the aftermath of the accusations that have come to light earlier this year.
This committee was formed to collaborate on a community-engaged process in order to facilitate a name change for the Cesar E. Chavez Browsing Collection at Michigan State University Libraries. This process will need to be done with care and consideration of the collection’s historical significance, mission, and the current context. The town hall will be used as a space to gather as a community, share the renaming process, and receive input on possible names.
