MSUL UNPLUGGED Presents: Taking a beat! A DIY pop-up In-Person
Resist the infinite digital scroll and handle some actual paper at this Murray & Hong Special Collections pop-up dedicated to slowing down and signing off(line). Revel in the mundanity of the modern world as it’s captured in mini Polaroids or learn a new life skill by flipping through a Foxfire manual. Appreciate the fine craftsmanship of a hand-illuminated manuscript focusing on Cuban cooking or get crafty yourself by creating your own mini-movie courtesy of the Libraries’ Media Preservation Unit. Curated by Alyssa Davis and Brian Jirout, this event is presented in conjunction with MSUL UNPLUGGED, an initiative by the Library Environmental Committee that promotes hands-on, screen-free activities in lieu of energy-intensive distractions.
