Black History Month: the Terri Jewell Papers In-Person
For 20+ years, poet Terri Jewell was a vital member of the Lansing area Black and LGBTQ+ communities, and a prolific author and editor, known for her passionate advocacy for Black women and her searing indictments of racism and sexism. Her personal papers, including manuscripts of unpublished works, were given to Special Collections after her untimely death in 1995.
