DESCRIPTION:When you hear students complain that a course is “too much to 
 handle\,” hear them out. By understanding Cognitive Load Theory (CLT)\, 
 you can enhance learning outcomes by optimizing cognitive load. Join us in 
 learning about CLT and the guiding principles for creating content that 
 facilitates better understanding and retention of information. You'll not 
 only be a better Spartan Learning Experience Designer (SLXD) but also a 
 better advocate for accessibility.\n\nUpon completion of this learning 
 experience\, participants will be able to:\n\n\n	Explain the key concepts 
 and principles of Cognitive Load Theory (CLT)\n	Apply CLT principles to 
 create accessible and effective learning resources\n	Evaluate existing 
 course materials and instructional strategies to optimize cognitive load 
 for diverse learners\n\n\nThe in-person location for this session is the 
 Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation. Please join us in the Main
