SUMMARY:From Overwhelmed to Optimized: An Introduction to Teaching with AI Tools ***Walk-ins Welcome***
DESCRIPTION:Curious about AI but unsure where to start? This introductory
workshop will show you how generative AI tools like ChatGPT can support
your teaching\, not replace it. Explore practical ways to streamline tasks
like generating learning objectives\, lesson planning and assignment
design\, learn how to write effective prompts\, and understand key ethical
considerations. You’ll leave with strategies to confidently begin using
AI in your teaching practice\, no tech expertise required.\n\nUpon
completion of this learning experience\, participants will be able
to:\n\n\n	define generative AI and distinguish it from other types of
artificial intelligence relevant to teaching and learning\n	explain how AI
can support\, rather than replace\, the role of educators\, and recognize
its potential impact on traditional teaching workflows\n	identify teaching
tasks that can be streamlined or enhanced using AI\, such as lesson
planning\, assignment design\, and content repurposing for different
formats or audiences\n	experiment with low-stakes applications of AI to
improve efficiency and creativity in teaching practice\n	write effective
prompts and apply role-based and iterative prompting techniques to obtain
relevant and high-quality instructional outputs from AI tools\n	evaluate
 AI-generated content for accuracy\, appropriateness\, inclusivity\, and the
need for human judgment or revision\n	describe key ethical considerations
when using AI in teaching\, including issues of transparency\, bias\, data
 privacy\, and over-reliance.\n
