SUMMARY:Designing Assessments with AI Support ***Drop-ins Welcome***
DESCRIPTION:Designing assessments that are aligned\, inclusive\, and
rigorous is central to effective teaching but it’s also time-consuming.
In this hands-on workshop\, you’ll learn how to use generative AI tools
to streamline assessment design\, revision\, and evaluation while
maintaining alignment with learning objectives. We’ll explore how AI can
help you create a variety of assessment types\, adapt them for different
modalities\, improve accessibility and inclusivity\, and develop clear\,
fair rubrics. You’ll also learn strategies for evaluating AI-generated
assessments for quality and appropriateness and leave with prompt
templates\, practical examples\, and the confidence to make AI a trusted
partner in your assessment workflow.\n\nUpon completion of this learning
experience\, participants will be able to:\n\n\n	describe how generative AI
can support assessment creation\, revision\, and analysis to improve
alignment\, efficiency\, and inclusivity in higher education\n	use AI to
 design a variety of assessments\, including multiple-choice\, open-ended\,
scenario-based\, and problem-solving tasks\, that align with course
 learning objectives\n	evaluate AI-generated assessments for validity\,
reliability\, and appropriateness to the intended learning outcomes\n	use
AI to adapt existing assessments to different modalities or delivery
 formats\, improve accessibility\, inclusive language\, and alternative
assessment formats to accommodate diverse learners\n	create and revise
rubrics with AI assistance to ensure clear\, measurable criteria and
fairness across performance levels\n	revise assessment instructions and
content with AI to improve clarity\, accessibility\, and inclusive
language\n	apply AI tools to revise or design assessments that maintain
academic rigor and minimize opportunities for academic dishonesty.\n	apply
and reflect on how AI can support continuous improvement of assessment
strategies through feedback analysis and iterative design.\n
