DESCRIPTION:The start of the American Civil War in 1861 affected the people 
 of Michigan Agricultural College\, later known as MSU. Students enlisted to 
 serve in the Union Army\, and while some came back to campus to finish 
 their studies\, others died fighting. Stop by and learn about the 
 community's role in the events of the time: how the first graduating class 
 of MSU in 1861 asked to be excused from graduation so they could enlist in 
 the army\; Professor Robert Kedzie’s contributions to science after the 
 war\; and how the horse that helped in the capture of John Wilkes Booth
