SLXD: Creating Inclusive and Accessible Course Materials

SLXD: Creating Inclusive and Accessible Course Materials In-Person / Online

Imagine building a bridge that everyone can cross, regardless of their abilities. This is the goal of creating accessible course materials – ensuring all students, including those with disabilities, can fully engage with your content. Accessibility is more than just a buzzword; it’s a crucial requirement set by federal regulations and MSU standards. Yet, with limited time and resources, many scramble to meet these demands. Join us for a session where we demystify accessibility using practical tools and resources that make compliance manageable. We’ll guide you in transforming your course materials into inclusive pathways, ensuring no student is left behind.

Upon completion of this learning experience, participants will be able to:

  • Assess and modify existing course materials to improve accessibility for all students.
  • Use tools and resources to enhance the accessibility of course content effectively.

Special thanks to Dr. Bethany Meadows from CTLI and Josie Davidson from the Office for Civil Rights and Title IX Education and Compliance for co-leading the session and providing technical expertise during the session.
